 If you’re interested in learning more about faith, the Bible, the UCC, and God, consider enrolling in the Southwest Conference Lay Academy! We’re inviting some of the most talented, interesting speakers that our faith has to offer to work with you as you grow and learn! The Lay Academy offers five retreats a year; each retreat is held Friday (evening) and Saturday (morning – afternoon). Speakers, meals, and materials are included for only $75 a session. Ask your church to sponsor you for $25 or more of the tuition. Three sessions annually will be in Phoenix, one in Tucson, and one in Albuquerque. Home hospitality will be arranged if you wish. You may sign up for a few classes or all of them! This is a three-year program with a total of 15 retreats. Graduates who have taken all the classes will receive a certificate of completion. Sessions are seminar format. There will be no homework and no papers to write. These are not seminary classes—they’re tailored specifically to help individuals grow as lay leaders. Clergy are not invited to attend. Here’s the list of only some of the topics that we’ll be covering:
