Press Release
May 1, 2012

Debra AveryThe Interchurch Resource Center (IRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Debra Avery to the position of Resource Assistant, effective May 1, 2012. Debra received her BA from the University of Northern Iowa, her MS in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Masters of Divinity at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.

She has served congregations in Yonkers, NY, Springfield, IL and Paradise Valley, AZ. Debra is currently seeking full-time ministry in the greater Phoenix area. While serving on several important committees, she has recently been elected as a Teaching Elder Commissioner to the denomination’s 220th General Assembly, PCUSA by the Presbytery of the Grand Canyon.

Debra is very familiar with on-line and printed Christian publications and sources, and as an active pastor has often sought out and used these resources in serving her congregations. She brings excellent computer skills to her IRC assignment that will enhance the stated direction of our shared ministry in the Resource Center. We are confident that Debra will be a valuable asset as we transition our center to better serve the needs of all of our people.

The Interchurch Resource Center (IRC) is an amazing resource available to local congregations. The Center is located in the same complex as the Southwest Conference Office and houses a wealth of print, video, DVD, books and kits to support the mission and ministry of local congregations.

Interchurch Resource CenterResources are available for Bible Study, evangelism, leadership development, stewardship, theology, Vacation Church School, worship, and youth ministry. The Interchurch Resource Center receives materials from United Church Press and United Church Resources each year. Samples of the curriculum are available.

Online catalog
The materials available at this center are searchable in an online version of our catalog. The online version of the catalog is updated periodically, but might not contain the very latest acquisitions. If you don't find what you seek during your online search, or have questions about new resources that might not yet appear in the online version, please contact the Center.

Membership
Congregations may join the IRC on an annual fee basis depending on the size of the church. For example a congregation of less than 100 members pays $25 annually to access any and all resources in the IRC. Congregations of 500 or more members pay $250 per year. For churches outside the Phoenix area, materials can be shipped via UPS.
