Boundary Training for Active Clergy
One of the Southwest Conference requirements for maintaining authorized ministerial standing in the United Church of Christ is participation in boundary training every five years.(Retired Clergy should see the information at the bottom of this page.)2012 Boundary Training for Active Clergy only

This will be the only session offered in 2012 - DON'T MISS IT!
The facilitators are Rev. Donna Cavedon and Rev. Len Silvester. They will use the video series from the Faith Trust Institute titled “A Sacred Trust: Boundary Issues for Clergy and Spiritual Teachers.” This training consists of four video modules addressing power and authority, relationships, psycho-social/intimacy concerns, and self-care. There will be an interactive segment following the viewing of each video.
The cost is $15 a person for the training (lunch is included) and $15 if you wish to keep the participant workbook that will be used. Because this session will be the only opportunity this year to take boundary training, travel funds are available for those living outside the Central Arizona association.

Note: Boundary training may be taken in another setting. A course description must be sent to the conference office to ascertain if it fulfills SWC requirements, and if it does, a certificate of completion must be sent to keep on file.

Directions from the south:
Take 1-10 W toward LA and continue for several miles. Take the Loop 101 N. Take exit 12 and go left (west) onto W Thunderbird Road. Turn right at the 4th light into Boswell Blvd. Boswell bends around to the left; cross 99th Avenue and the church is 4 blocks on the left, corner of 103rd Ave.
Directions from the north:
Take 1-17 toward Phoenix. Take exit 214C to merge onto AZ-101 Loop W. Continue for several miles and take exit 12 for Thunderbird Rd. Turn right (west) onto W Thunderbird Rd. Turn right at the 4th light into Boswell Blvd. Boswell bends around to the left; cross 99th Avenue and the church is 4 blocks on the left, corner of 103rd Ave.

Boundary Training Retired Clergy
COCAM has set a new policy for retired clergy with standing in the SWC.
The wording of the motion was:
“The committee establishes a policy of retirement boundary training within the first three years of retirement. Current retirees who have taken boundary training in retirement are exempted and those retirees who engage in active call will be required to take standard boundary training during the duration of the call within the first twelve months.”A special Retirement Boundaries session will be developed.
